What does pairing mean?

Pairing consists when a link or audio connection is established between the SuperTooth Buddy and a mobile phone equipped with Bluetooth technology. Pairing is required only for the first connection with a mobile phone.

2. What does Multi-point mean?

The SuperTooth Buddy can simultaneously connect to 2 Bluetooth devices. The SuperTooth Buddy is active on both mobile phones. You can make calls, accept or reject incoming calls on any of the two phones from the SuperTooth Buddy.

3. How do I pair my SuperTooth Buddy with a Bluetooth mobile phone?

Pair the SUPERTOOTH BUDDY to your Bluetooth mobile phone to create the link or audio connection between the two. The pairing process is required only once for each phone.

Full Auto Pairing Procedure:
IMPORTANT: Please check if your phone’s Bluetooth is enabled and discoverable. Then place your phone and the handsfree kit close to each other.

  1. From OFF, press and hold the On/Off (8) button of the handsfree kit until the Bluetooth Indicator (4) turns blinking red/blue. Then press the MFB (6) button to search your phone. Note: The handsfree kit will search only for 1 minute. If your phone is not found, press the MFB (6) button again.

 

  1. When the handsfree kit finds the phone, accept any connection or pairing prompts on your phone. The handsfree kit is now paired and ready to use. Note: Older phones will ask for the password/pin code. Enter 0000 and press OK. The handsfree kit is now paired and ready to use.

Normal Pairing Procedure:

  1. From OFF, press and hold the On/Off (8) button until the Bluetooth Indicator (4) turns blinking red/blue. The handsfree kit is now in pairing mode.

 

  1. While the handsfree kit is in pairing mode, access the Bluetooth menu of your phone. Turn on the Bluetooth function and execute a Bluetooth search. (See your phone’s manual.)
  1. When the phone displays the list of Bluetooth devices, select ST BUDDY.

 

  1. If the phone asks for the password/pin code, enter 0000 and press Ok.
  1. The handsfree kit is now ready to use.

4. How do I pair my SuperTooth BUDDY with my two Bluetooth phones to use multi-point function?

Please check that the multipoint function is activated on your SuperTooth BUDDY (Cf. user manual or FAQ here below).
This has to be done only at the first connection to a new phone.

  1. Turn off the handsfree kit by pressing and holding the On/Off (8) button until the LED flashes red. You will hear a beep.
  2. Pair the additional phone as explained in Pairing to your Bluetooth Mobile Phone” in the FAQ above or in the user manual. This phone will now be the primary phone.
  3. Connect the 1st phone paired manually (via the Bluetooth menu of the phone) or turn the kit Off. When you turn on the kit again, both phones will connect automatically.

The SuperTooth BUDDY can simultaneously connect to 2 Bluetooth devices. You can use any of the two phones with a single hands-free car kit.
The last connected phone (or the last that had an active call) is set as primary and the other phone is set as secondary.
The SuperTooth BUDDY is active on both mobile phones.

  • Voice dial and re-dial will be done using the primary phone only.
  • You can accept or reject calls from any of the two phones.
  • If you accept a call, that phone will become the primary phone.
  • A keypad dial will set that phone as primary.

Delete the actual pairing of the SuperTooth BUDDY in your mobile phone’s menu. Switch off your phone, remove the battery for a few seconds, and then switch the mobile phone on again. Reset your SuperTooth BUDDY (see FAQs). Switch on your SuperTooth BUDDY  Put it on pairing mode (see FAQs) and pair it from your mobile phone (refer to mobile phone user manual).

9. I have followed automatic pairing instructions, but it doesn’t work

- Please make sure that there is no other Bluetooth phone or device within one meter from the SuperTooth BUDDY during automatic pairing process.
- Please make sure that your Bluetooth phone is compatible with automatic pairing and that Bluetooth mode on your phone is enabled and discoverable (see user manual of your phone). Place your phone at 10 cm from the SuperTooth Buddy.

13. How do I reset my SuperTooth BUDDY:

From OFF, press and hold the On/Off (8) button of the handsfree kit until the Bluetooth Indicator (4) turns blinking red/blue, then press and hold Hang up / Reject call until you hear a beep. All pairings of the kit have been erased.


My mobile phone is paired with my SuperTooth BUDDY, but I can’t hear any sound in the hands free kit speaker. Why is this?
- Your SuperTooth BUDDYmust be switched on (Bluetooth indicator)
- Your SuperTooth BUDDY is paired but it must be connected (Bluetooth indicator steady blue while calling). If the Bluetooth indicator blinks blue while calling, click the green button on your to set connection with your paired phone (primary phone). You can also set Bluetooth connection via the Bluetooth menu of your phone (see your phone’s manual

How many Bluetooth phones can I pair with my SuperTooth BUDDY?
The SuperTooth BUDDY can be paired with up to 8 phones. An additional pairing will automatically delete the phone that has not been used for the longest time. Only 2 out of these 8 phones can be connected simultaneously with the SuperTooth BUDDY.

14. Several Bluetooth phones are paired with my SuperTooth BUDDY, how do I switch from one phone to another?

You can easily switch to any of the paired phones by:

  1. Disconnecting the currently used phone using the “Active devices” in the Bluetooth menu of that mobile phone.
  1. Connecting to the wanted phone by using the “Paired devices” in the Bluetooth menu of the desired mobile phone.

Note: Reconnection to a paired phone can also be done by pressing the Accept Button. But when you press the Accept Button, the SuperTooth Buddy will attempt to connect to the last used phone only. It is recommended to connect to another paired phone using the phone menu.

15. How many Bluetooth phones can be connected simultaneously with my SuperTooth BUDDY?

Two phones can be connected simultaneously with your SuperTooth BUDDY.


When using my SuperTooth BUDDY, the sound becomes less clear or low-quality. Why is this?

  • The SuperTooth BUDDY is running out of battery. When battery is low, the Battery indicator light will become red.
  • The connected phone is running out of battery.
  • The phone network is bad.
  • The SuperTooth BUDDY is too far from this connected phone (the operating range of Bluetooth connection is 10 meters).

16. Does my Supertooth BUDDY support “voice dialling” function?

Yes, if your phone supports this function. First, this function must be activated on your phone and record at least one contact (see your phone’s manual if needed).


  1. Press the green button for one second.
  2. When you hear the beep in the kit, say the name of the person you want to call.
  3. Say the name exactly the way it has been recorded on your phone.
  4. The kit repeats the name; the phone will then dial the phone number automatically.


Note: Voice dialling works only if one phone is connected with the SuperTooth BUDDY.If two phones are connected with the SuperTooth BUDDY, voice dialling will be active on the primary phone only.

17. Is the SuperTooth BUDDY compatible with “automatic answer” function?

Yes, if your mobile phone supports this function. This function must be activated on the mobile phone (refer in your phone’s manual).


« Voice dialing » function is not 100% efficient, why?

  • Depending on background noise when voice dialing is used, the phone may not recognize the name announced. If the phone supports this feature, record the names again via the microphone of the SuperTooth BUDDY, after this, Voice dialing should be more efficient.
  • Some phones support the voice dialing function but don’t allow recordings in your own voice. Contacts are automatically associated with a digital voice. With these phones, voice dialing is not always effective, even if used directly on the phone.

When the battery is low, the battery indicator light will flash red.

The battery indicator light on the SuperTooth BUDDY will turn steady orange while charging.  When charging is complete, it will turn steady green.

20. While having a phone call via my SuperTooth BUDDY, can I transfer audio to my mobile phone without having to hang up?

 (Audio transfers work only with phones compatible with Bluetooth “hands-free” profile).
Yes. To do so, switch off the SuperToorh BUDDY pressing the MFB (green button) for 3 seconds. Audio will be transferred on your phone instantly.
Nb: With some phones, you will have to enable audio transfer on the phone.

 - Yes. If your SuperTooth BUDDY is already switched on, click the MFB (green button) on your kit. This will work if this phone is the only one connected with the SuperTooth BUDDY.
- Yes, via your phone’s menu if another phone is connected with the same SuperTooth BUDDY.

- Enable automatic connection with the SuperTooth BUDDY, this is located in the Bluetooth menu of your mobile phone (refer to your phone’s user guide).
- Have you disconnected the SuperTooth BUDDY via the phone menu? If so, please restore Bluetooth connection from in your phone menu.
- The SuperTooth BUDDYis connected with two phones and the other phone remained connected with the kit. Reconnect the SuperTooth BUDDY via the menu of your phone.

If you are having a phone call via the SuperTooth BUDDY and you have a second incoming call, you will hear a beep via the SuperTooth BUDDY.

Press the MFB for one second to hang up the ongoing call and pick up the second incoming call. Audio of the second call will be automatically heard via the kit.

Nb: Hold on handling will not be available if 2 phones are connected simultaneously with the SuperTooth BUDDY (Multipoint).
